Finally, after two other razor reviews, I’m ready to tackle the Twig. When it finally came I had to wait due to it being almost the end of the year not wanted to do the review at that time. They made sure the backers knew what was going on every step of the way right up to the shipping. This remarkable razor came to me via an announcement from Leaf as a Kickstarter. I am hopeful that when the new blades I ordered arrive(Feather), things would be even better Overall, I'm ok with sacrificing a bit of time to move from cartridges to safety razor, as long as it's safe and efficient. The single edge razor is getting lots of attention lately with several new releases over the years we have many to choose from but one that I’ve used recently could be jumping ahead of the pack this one is from the company Leaf and it’s called the Twig. Shaving my head still took longer than with cartridge but not as long like as the first time I used the Twig. Well, apparently after switching blades (from the same package that arrived with the razor) things went faster and smoother. Thanks and I hope you'll find the review useful. So for my head shaving, the Twig didn't work so well, unless I did something wrong.ĭo you guys think that using feather blades might completely change my experience without increasing too much the risk to cut myself? When I was losing patience and didn't pay attention, I used force with each pass, I still ended with zero cuts. I will give the Twig the credit and mention it's probably really hard to cut yourself. I need to go and fix it, going over some areas again. Now, after the shave and shower, it's still far away from being smooth. I decided not to give up, ending with multiple passes on the same area to get it shaved, overall it took me almost 20 mins(it takes me around 2 mins with cartridge razor). The only thing that worked is if I was applying a bit of pressure. With the grain, against the grain, across the grain, nothing helped. OK, it's been a while since I last did it, perhaps the angle was wrong, played with the angles and pretty much no cutting, only pulling. Lathered as usual, did first pass and discovered the razor didn't cut anything. Twig Razor + blades that came with the package.3 days grown head hair (not dense, not thin).Today I had my first shave and here is my experience. Went straight to Amazon and purchased it. People said the razor is perfect for head shaving and pretty much dumb proof, perfect much for me. Then of course I did some research and discovered that the vast majority of the reviews were positive. So when I learned about the new Twig Razor that suppose to be a half way between cartridges and safety razor, I was really excited. Eventually I broke and went back to cartridge razors. I am not new to wet shaving and safety razors.Ī while back ago there was a period that I was shaving my head with the new KCG safety razor, however, roughly in one out of five shaves, I would end with a terrible cut and missing skin pieces.
